Eldon Housing Association was established in 1981 and specialises in the provision of housing for older people, our sheltered and extra care housing schemes are in the London Borough of Croydon and West Sussex. We also provide Facilities Management services to 3 London Borough of Croydon Residential Care Homes/Day Centres.
As part of our Board succession plan, we are looking for new Board Members with experience and knowledge to help us shape and take forward our exciting plans for Eldon. We are looking for a broad range of Strategic Leadership, Management, Risk and Audit, Care & Support sector and commercial experience to help lead our continued organic growth. Equally important is our focus on customers, as we respond to the challenges facing our sector and the requirements outlined in the Social Housing White Paper.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strategic experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Asset Management
- Property Development
- Transformation
- People & Culture
The time commitment for this role is 6 meetings a year, plus an AGM and a Saturday Away Day.
We currently hold a mix of in-person meetings in held in Croydon and virtual meetings. Meetings are normally held on Thursdays starting at 5.30pm.
Our ideal applicant would be someone with an awareness of, and interest in, issues affecting the housing sector and older people. A full induction programme will be provided.
We are looking for Board Members who share our values and vision for the future to help transform our aspirations into reality. We are also particularly keen to have a Board that includes people from a range of backgrounds and different life experiences, who support our commitment to equality and diversity.
Ideally, we are looking for Board members who live within a 20-mile radius of our Head Office in Croydon, Surrey.
In return, Board Members will be part of a team of dedicated people who have a wide range of knowledge and skills to share.
